Please note: the deadline for registration is Friday, April 1st.

Welcome to our home.

We welcome you to the Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area, which the National Park Service has called "The Cradle of American Culture." The Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area is a proud member of the National Park Service's African American Civil Rights Network, as the region is recognized as "The Birthplace of the Modern Civil Rights Movement" via the lynching of 14-year-old Emmett Till in 1955. The Mississippi Delta region also is recognized as the "The Birthplace of the Blues."

We are excited to host the 2022 spring meeting for the Alliance of National Heritage Areas. We are particularly thrilled that this coincides with National Park Week, declared by the National Park Service to be a time to explore amazing places, discover stories of history and culture, help out, and find your park!

We have a full week planned and look forward to interacting with each of you in Mississippi. We’ve developed this mini-site to assist you in your planning and registration for the week, but if there is anything we may have missed that you need, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know how we can assist you.

So, take some time, look around, and learn a bit more about where you’ll be and what you’ll see. One good place to start is a collaborative project between GRAMMY Museum Mississippi, the Mississippi Delta Tourism Association and the MDNHA - The Top 40 Places to visit in the Mississippi Delta.

We’re thrilled to have you join us in the Mississippi Delta, where you can always . . .

expect the unexpected.
